We are ALL artists at heart. And no matter if that art is traditional like painting, cooking, or writing, or a little weird like creating skateboard parks, uncovering a site for a new dinosaur dig or planning meetings and events – generating new ideas is a vital part of our life!
In the meeting planning world, creating means generating fresh ideas every day. Creating compelling content, finding ways to build community, responding to new attendee demands, creating ‘aha’ moments, making sponsors happy and even figuring out how to do more with less requires a new approach to coming up with breakthrough ideas.
Play with a Purpose provides a fun, brilliant process called IDEASPARKING! to uncover new ways to make your meetings more enriching, engaging and valuable for attendees.
Here’s How it’s Done!
Pre-Preparation
The pre-preparation phase is all about discovery. In order to develop the content and direction for your IdeaSparking! workshop, we review what happened last year, any materials you have developed for this year’s event and goals and objectives.
IdeaSparking! Workshop
This hands-on workshop is a facilitated brainstorming process designed to generate hundreds of new and useable ideas to impact the engagement levels in your programs.
We start by clarifying the key areas to be worked on using a process called Learn -Feel -Do. In this phase, we will uncover and decide on the key challenges you’d like to tackle. Maybe you want the General Sessions to be more interesting and impactful. Others might want the speakers to do more interactive presentations. The goal is to give everyone an opportunity to share their ideas and unique perspectives on the conference and to clarify which pieces we will spend time brainstorming and developing.
Then the fun begins! We’ll facilitate a high energy, blow your mind brainstorming session using converging and diverging tools, all centered around your key challenge. Our goal will be to force connections between your conference and unrelated objects in order to get to something fresh and unique. Using a variety of creative tools and techniques, we’ll spur your team to think beyond the everyday solutions and into the realm of new and unusual ideas that will truly change the face of your event.
Focus
Next, we focus in on the ideas to be implemented. The goal in this section is to focus on the ideas you think are the best, and to begin developing those ideas and assigning responsibilities for who is going to own the actionable pieces.
