Working with Different Types of Groups on Team Building Events

Team Building Experts In Orlando

Great team building experts will get to know your team

Sharon Fisher, an Orlando team building expert at Play With A Purpose, discusses the importance that your team building experts get to know your own team — and how Play With A Purpose strives to give each group they work with a unique experience tailored just for them.

“We’ve worked with so many different kinds of groups, and I think the one thing that we need to talk about is that, ‘Who is your group, and what level in the company is your group?’ because it’s being able to read the group. So, something that a group of really highly outgoing, aggressive, maverick-type, energetic salespeople will do is not the exact same kind of an event that a group of mechanics will do (that are internal, more thinking) or a group of chemical engineers will do. That’s even entirely different than what your executive level, your C-suite will do. That’s an entirely different kind of a group.

So, you really want somebody who has a broad depth of experience working with a lot of different groups and understands the differences between those groups. There is an event for every group. They’re just very different in terms of what the makeup is, what the content is, what the structure is, what the presentation is, what the level of conversation in MC and facilitation skills needed are.

So, there’s a lot of things that are very, very different among those groups. That’s something, really, that only experience will tell you. So, you really want somebody that’s really worked with a lot of different groups and truly gets it and understands, ‘Okay, this is my C-level group. I’m not going to propose some of these crazy and wild things that I know a sales group would do, and have fun, and laugh, and it would be highly competitive and good. That’s not what the C-suite’s about.’ So, you have to really understand the differences between those groups so you set yourself up for success.”
